Introduction

If you use Xero or QuickBooks as your accounting software and have purchased the Glue Up integration, you might want to sync and map your contacts from there to Glue Up. This way, you can avoid duplicate entries, ensure data accuracy, and improve your user experience.

In this article, we will show you how to sync and map your contacts from Xero/QuickBooks to Glue Up using the new features we have recently released.

To sync your contacts from Xero/QuickBooks to Glue Up, you need to connect your Xero/QuickBooks account to Glue Up first. To do this, go to the Integrations page in Glue Up and click on the Xero or QuickBooks icon. Then, follow the instructions to authorize the connection.

Once you have connected your Xero/QuickBooks account to Glue Up, you can start syncing your contacts.

Choose your mapping preferences for the contacts

On the Xero/QuickBooks page in Glue Up (Integrations), you will see a dedicated section called Contact and Company Matching. Here, you can choose how you want to match your contacts from Xero/QuickBooks to Glue Up.

You have two options for matching your contacts: by name or by email. By default, the automatic match is enabled and the matching is done by name. This means that Glue Up will try to find a contact in Xero/QuickBooks that has the same name as the contact in Glue Up.

If you want to use email matching instead, you can switch to By Email. This means that Glue Up will try to find a contact in Xero/QuickBooks that has the same email as the contact in Glue Up.

For the company contacts, the matching is always done by name. This means that Glue Up will try to find a company in Xero/QuickBooks that has the same name as the company in Glue Up.

Update your Contacts’ mappings between Xero/QuickBooks and Glue Up

After choosing your mapping preferences for the contacts, you can update your mappings between Xero/QuickBooks and Glue Up. This means that you can decide which Xero/QuickBooks contact an invoice should sync to.

To do this, go to the contact or company profile in the Glue Up Contacts Module and click on the Billing Information tab. There, you will see a new section called Integration Matching. Here, you can see and select the correct match for the contact or company from Xero/QuickBooks.

For Xero, you can only apply one mapping per contact or company. For QuickBooks, you can apply multiple mappings per contact or company for example if they have different currencies.
