Cascading Choice is a new custom field type supporting 2 levels of choices.

You can now create Cascading Choice fields on the Event Registration and Membership Application forms.

When the user selects one option – depending on what option they choose, the next level field will display another set of choices.

For example: Choose your Industry. The first level answers are Agriculture, Arts & Entertainment, Construction, Management, Manufacturing, etc. If you choose Agriculture, the second level answers related to that industry are Crop Production, Animal Production, Agriculture Livestock, etc.

The answers can be entered manually or imported via an Excel file, using the provided import template.

You can complete the following actions on Cascading Choices:

  1. Switch between the levels
  2. Set a default option to be displayed on each level
  3. Delete options

To obtain the correct results, you must filter by both cascading choice levels.

The cascading choice fields are also available on Mobile apps.

Import Cascading Fields

Navigate to Organization Settings > Contact Settings > Field Settings, and under the Cascading Choice field, download the Answer List.

Next, open your Excel file and replace the values you want to import with the corresponding answer keys from the Answer List, ensuring both levels of choices are filled out with the correct answer keys.
