Providing Complimentary Memberships

Often, organizations want to comp a membership for important stakeholders, such as VIP members or organization sponsors. Follow the processes below to create a membership application or renewal that does not require payment.

Comping a membership application

  1. Go to the Workflow Manager in the Membership module and enter the Applications subsection.
  2. Select an existing application in the Awaiting Payment tab and click the three dots icon in the row of your desired application. Click Comp Application.
  3. A popup window will appear with information about the membership. Click the Comp Application button. When you comp the application, the price of the membership will be ignored and the membership will be free. Please note that the comp action cannot be undone.
  4. After the application has been comped and the membership has been activated, the application’s payment status will be marked as ‘Comped’ and the price will be listed as ‘Free’ elsewhere in the Glue Up platform. The application invoice will list a 100% discount for the membership.

Comping a renewal

  1. Go to the Workflow Manager in the Membership module and enter the Renewals subsection.
  2. Select an existing renewal in the Awaiting Payment tab and click the three dots icon in the row of your desired renewal. Click Comp Renewal.
  3. A popup window will appear with information about the membership. Click the Comp Renewal button. When you comp the renewal, the price of the membership will be ignored and the membership will be free. The comp action cannot be undone.
  4. After the renewal has been comped and activated, the renewal’s payment status will be marked as ‘Comped’ and the price will be listed as ‘Free’ elsewhere in the Glue Up platform. The renewal invoice will list a 100% discount for the membership.
